Murzim is the second brightest star of Canis Major constellation, the Great Dog. It is currently projected at 7° Cancer in the tropical zodiac.

Canis Major hosts the brightest fixed star in the sky, Sirius. Murzim’s name derives from Arabic (مرزم), meaning the Herald, the Announcer; it rises before Sirius, effectively announcing it.

Good dog, mad dog
