What the raffle is for

So, what’s this all about? Alex has been searching for a job for months.

This is Alex!

As a covid-cautious trans woman of colour, this hasn’t been easy, and unfortunately, debt has accumulated in the process. The GoFundMe is all about supporting her during this transitional time. On top of being a human-shaped ray of sunshine, Alex is active in her community, notably with a local mask bloc (you can find more info further down, and directly on the GFM page if you’re curious!).

As transphobic and eugenistic policies continue to be implemented (everywhere and especially viciously in the USA where Alex is located), I believe resourcing through mutual aid is key and I hope you join in! Besides this basic incentive of just Doing a Cool Thing To Help Someone, there are so many awesome prizes you can receive in the process, which I’m really excited about.

Nota bene: don’t forget to send an email at devil.eyestrology@gmail.com with your receipt to confirm your participation! Not everyone who donates to the page wants to enter the raffle, and we (co-organisers of the raffle, Elsa and Azur) don’t monitor the GFM page ourselves.

Prizes!!! ✹

We have a really cool range of offerings as prizes for this raffle; card readings, astrological consults, guidebooks, and even a custom Tarot-themed digital portrait!

In order to encourage folks to spread the word, we've arranged prizes into tiers.
The first tier (Mercury) is already open of course, but... If we sell 150 raffle tickets, the second tier (Venus) unlocks, and if we sell 250 tickets, the third tier (Sun) unlocks.

You can read more about each individual offering in this post, and here’s a quick list arranged by tiers:

MERCURY TIER đŸ’« open!

VENUS TIER 🍯 unlocks at 150 tickets OPEN! 🎉

SUN TIER đŸŒ» unlocks at 250 tickets

How does this work? 💡

Here’s how it works if you’d like to participate:

  • Donate a minimum of $5 on the GoFundMe page

  • $5 = one entry, $10 = two entries, $15 = three entries, and so on and so forth!

  • Take a screenshot of your receipt

  • Send the screenshot to Elsa at devil.eyestrology@gmail.com, with subject matter “raffle”

  • Share widely so other people know what’s up!

Elsa will reply to confirm you’ve been enlisted, and you’ll hear more when it’s time to receive your prize.

The more donations come in, the more prizes become available. Everyone will receive something, but the more support the fund gets, the more offerings get unlocked! The first tier (Mercury) is currently open. If we sell 150 raffle tickets, the second tier (Venus) unlocks, and if we sell 250 tickets, the third tier (Sun) unlocks.

The link to Alex’s GoFundMe is HERE. Here’s the description included therein:

Hello, my name is Alex and I am looking for help during some financial struggles. I have been looking for work for a while now, since my husband had top surgery, and was hoping to find a job to offset his loss of income during the recovery period and to resource us better afterward as the costs of living continue to rise, but I have been having a difficult time trying to find safe work as a Covid-cautious trans woman of color. The goal I'm trying to meet would help me catch up on bills and debt that have built up while I’ve been looking for work, and would help me not have to worry about basic survival needs being met while I continue to look for the right opportunity.

For those of you still here, thank you for reading! I am a second-generation native Mexican who was raised in Central California and grew up working on farms and in fields. I learned firsthand from a young age the significance of community in society that’s set up to abandon and disregard our most marginalized members. This belief has inspired me to always be an active member of my community. I am a member of my local mask bloc, delivering free masks to anyone in need. I also donate to our local community fridges and food banks whenever I have the opportunity and means to do so. It’s deeply important to me to be able to provide support to the people around me, and I am hopeful that now, I can lean on my community for support during this transitional time.
