I’m Azur (he/him + they/them). I’m an astrologer and artist from France, forever in love with the firmament. ✨
I love to research and write fixed stars in particular, but I’m also quite fond of decans and blending all sorts of techniques (secondary progressions, profections, etc), and I love to delve into chart examples to see how different astrological elements show up in people’s lives.
I give natal astrology consultations, in English and in French; my books are currently open. I started giving consultations in 2020 and it’s something I greatly enjoy! It’s always an honour to sit with people and discuss their natal promise.
I’m an alumni of the Hellenistic Astrology Course by Chris Brennan, Bernadette Brady’s Star School, and have studied with a variety of recorded classes by Austin Coppock, Demetra George, Kelly Surtees, and (many!) others.
I’m passionate about the history of astrology, time-lord techniques, fixed stars in parans, the study of patterns and cycles, as well as one-on-one counseling, sociology and psychotraumatology. I definitely strive to have a trauma-informed practice, drawing on works by Pete Walker, Bessel Van Der Kolk, bell hooks, among others.
I’m an animist and this informs my work and my approach to astrology. It is by no means required that you take the same approach to work with me, but I think it’s good to know regardless!
I’m hungry for a practice of astrology that reflects the diversity of our world. My approach is infused with my knowledge & interest in disability studies, queer studies and feminist theory, and supporting other marginalized people is in my top priorities.
I hold astrology in high regard as a tool of introspection as well as prediction, and more generally (and perhaps more importantly, for me personally) as a way to connect with the cosmos.
I don’t think determinism is a synonym for being fatalistic, condemning us to inertia. I also don’t think astrology should mean essentialism, depolitization or a reductive view of the world and its people. In any case, I try to make sure it isn’t the case in my practice. Integrity and strong, transparent ethics are a priority for me. I commit to respecting my clients’ boundaries and making sure, before anything else, that I do no harm.
For more information about my approach, including techniques I use, people who inspire me, etc, see this page.
I intend to publish solely in English here, as I write mostly in French elsewhere.
